Project Athena

What we do

Project Athena provides a safe, supportive space where young women can build confidence, develop life skills and form positive friendships. Through a variety of activities, workshops, trips and group discussions, participants are encouraged to explore their wellbeing, celebrate their strengths and navigate the opportunities and challenges that come with growing up.

The programme is delivered in two age-specific groups to ensure activities and conversations are appropriate for different stages of development: Junior Project Athena for girls aged 8–11 and Senior Project Athena for young women aged 11–16. While both programmes share the same core aims, each is tailored to the needs, experiences and interests of its age group.

A part of the RPT Youth Club, Senior Project Athena supports young women aged 11-16 to navigate transitions from primary to secondary school and to womanhood. We offer a variety of activities from sports, cooking, make up and art to one-off workshops and trips, delivered through a weekly girls-only night.
