Big Give campaign for holiday Play services smashes target

Our Big Give match-funding campaign raising funds for our P3 holiday Play programmes has smashed its target, raising more than £32,000.

The funds will be used across all our North Kensington holiday Play programmes, which support more than 500 children across the school holidays, including summer (2020 and 2021), half-terms (October 2020 and February 2021) and Christmas.

More than 50 people supported our one-week campaign, which was championed by The Childhood Trust. The funds raised will be used to give free and heavily subsidised places to families who cannot afford to send their children to the 10-hours-a-day activity centre. Funds will also be used to buy equipment and materials, host off-site trips and experiences, pay for speciality activity coaches and adapt our programmes to the new guidelines to keep children safe in the aftermath of Covid-19.

Our first programme supported by this campaign, our Summer Play Centre at Avondale Primary School, support 95 different children, most of whom were engaging in extra-curricular and wellbeing activities for the first time in more than three months.
