Lockdown Quiz raises more than £18,000

The Rugby Portobello Trust's Lockdown Quiz, RPT's first online event, raised more than £18,000 for RPT's children's and young people's programmes.

The event, held on 18 June and sponsored by Strutt & Parker, was led by celebrity quizmasters Ian Hislop, Daisy Goodwin and Jenni Russell and was live-streamed to almost 200 devices, reaching well over 500 people, some as far as New Zealand!

The event was planned to support The Rugby Portobello Trust in the midst of the COVID-19 lock-down, which has hit RPT, and our fundraising, hard. RPT is more than 85% funded through donations, small grants and fundraising events, and all of RPT's event have either been postponed, cancelled or adapted in response to the ongoing pandemic, leaving RPT with a deficit of up to £200,000. 

The event was an incredible success and paves the way for more online events and virtual services from RPT.
