RPT Meets the PM

Six children from Homework Club, six young people from Youth Club and three members of staff from RPT attended an event at No. 10 Downing Street following the second anniversary of the Grenfell Tower fire.

Soliyana, one of RPT’s young people, was nominated by her peers to speak to Theresa May and had the opportunity to ask her questions.

Soliyana introduced herself to the Prime Minister and asked, “What is the government’s long-term plan for the local community’s mental health following the Grenfell Tower tragedy?” The PM replied that the government has earmarked funds for support services and is working closely with the NHS to ensure the local community is supported for the long-term.

After questions, No. 10 had various activities for the children, including cookie decorating, t-shirt painting and hairband decorating. Before leaving, the Prime Minister thanked RPT for providing support for the Grenfell community.
