RPT's Summer Give Fundraising Campaign 2019

This week we’re taking part in the Big Summer Give Campaign 2019 in partnership with the Big Give and The Childhood Trust. During the Big Summer Give we’ll be raising vital funds to support our Summer Play Programme. The campaign runs for one week only from midday on Monday 10th June until midday on Monday 17th June. During this time, donations made via our Big Give page will be doubled until we meet our fundraising target.

About the Summer Play Programme

Many children living in North Kensington lack safe spaces to play and suffer from reduced access to sports, arts, music, crafts and confidence-building activities. Food poverty and childhood obesity are on the rise in North Kensington, with little funding available to tackle these issues. Many local families cannot afford to leave the area for the summer or even to take time off work to spend time together, leaving children with little stimulation and at increased risk of engaging in anti-social behaviour.

Our Summer Play Programme provides a fun, safe and welcoming space for children to spend their time. Every day we'll support up to 110 children aged 5 to 13 years old, and over the course of the summer we expect to have supported more than 300 different children. Our Summer Play Programme runs five days a week, four weeks of the summer for 10 hours a day. Children will have access to sports, arts and cultural activities, team and confidence-building exercises and off-site trips, as well as freshly prepared breakfasts and tea. All places are heavily subsidised, with full-day fees capped at £11 per child and up to 50 free places for families who cannot afford the daily fee.

Every day of our Summer Play Centre is a new adventure for the children who take part, but we need your help to make it happen.
