A jam-packed summer of activities
Summer can be difficult for many of the families of we support, as it leave children and young people without the structure and engagement offered through school and regular activities. We prepare for this every year by putting on an incredible programme of activities for our children and young people to ensure they’re happy, healthy and engaged throughout the long break.
This past summer was filled with day trips to places such as Queens Bowl (bowling), the Spiderman premier, go-karting, quad-biking, trampolining at Flip-Out and Thorpe Park, all chosen to allow our children and young people to experience some of the amazing places both on their doorstep and a further afield.
We also took a group of our young people on a three-day residential to Oakerwood in Leominster, where they took part in paintballing, rope climbing, zip-lining and laser clay shooting, as well as campfire talks and nighttime hide and seek. The new environment and challenges of the day created a great foundation for new discussions, including how to overcome your fears, the importance of expressing yourself and how to express gratitude and positive affirmations.
