Fundraising and events

RPT Events

The Rugby Portobello Trust hosts four major fundraising events each year, welcoming over 1,000 supporters.

Portobello Dinner

Our Portobello Dinner started in 2008 as a fundraiser amongst neighbours and is now central to the generation of funds for RPT's activities. This September event welcomes over 200 people to a live auction sit-down dinner.

Notting Hill Christmas Market

Purchase your tickets here for the 30th Anniversary Rugby Portobello Christmas Market on November 12th and 13th, 2019.

Our Christmas Market was first held in 1989. Today, this November event welcomes over 500 people to two days of Christmas shopping and festive cheer. Our committee personally selects more than 50 independent stallholders who sell bespoke and luxury goods, and our committee and volunteers hand make beautiful Christmas wreaths and home-baked goods for our famous home produce stall. One of the highlights of the event is our silent auction, which is hosted online. Interested stall holders or anyone interested in more information about this years event can get information here.

As part of our Christmas Market we will be holding at online auction for two weeks before hand. The auction will go live on November 1st here:

Brain Game

Our Brain Game is hosted every April, welcoming 22 teams to an incredibly challenging quiz dinner hosted by a professional quiz master. This event raises nearly £20,000 annually and is one of our longest running events. Our Brain Game sells out very quickly, so do get in touch if you are interested in hosting a table.

Midsummer Music

To mark the start of the summer, RPT hosts a musical fundraiser. This event has included Midsummer Music featuring world-famous pianist Melvyn Tan and various operas hosted at Opera Holland Park. Our 2019 event welcomed The Outcry Ensemble to St Mary Abbots in the heart of Kensington for an evening of Mozart’s Eine Klein Nachtmusik and Beethoven’s Violin Concerto. This exceptional group is led by English National Opera’s James Henshaw and featured first violin Oscar Perks.
